UFC 157 Rousey vs Carmouche

UFC 157 Rousey vs Carmouche
This is one of the most historical event of the UFC due to the reason that this is the first time that women mixed martial artists would grace the octagon, and will also be the main event of the night.

Match 1
Josh Koshcheck vs Robbie Lawler (winner 1st round via tko)

The first minute looked good for Koshcheck as he successfully took down Lawler. But as soon as they got back up to their feet, Lawler took over with some knees and finished Koshceck with a ground and pound.

Match 2
Josh Neer vs Court Mcgee (winner via unanimous decision)

Mcgee dominated Neer in the first round with his solid attacks to the mid section. In the second round, Neer turned around the tides as he dominated the fight with his superior striking. Mcgee secured the victory during the third round when he dominated Neer in the ground area. Winning via unanimous decision.

Match 3
Ivan Menjivar vs Urijah Faber (winner 1st round via standing rear naked choke)

The match began with a beautiful hiptoss delivered by Menjivar, but Faber immediately got on top after the throw. Faber dished out some nasty elbows in the ground. The match transitioned back to the stand up position where Faber instantly jumped at the back of Menjivar and got the standing rear naked choke to win the match.

Match 4
Kenny Robertson (winner 1st round via leg lock) vs Brock Jardine

Honestly, I was reading the newspaper while this match was on going. Suddenly, I was shocked that Robertson has locked in a leg lock to win the match

Match 5
Lyoto Machida (winner via split decision) vs Dan Henderson

Personally, this was my least favorite match of the night. Technically, Dan Henderson’s game plan was to slow down Machida by using leg kicks. He was also setting up for his famous “Hendo Bomb” but Machida was able to avoid some of his punches. Machida used his agility and counter striking ability to seal the victory in this match.

Match 6
Ronda Rousey (winner 1st round via armbar) vs Lis Camouche

Lis Camouche made UFC history when she stepped inside the octagon making her the very first woman to ever grace the octagon.

The match began with both fighters dishing out some strikes to each other. Camouche almost caught Rousey in a standing rear naked choke. Amazingly, Rousey got Camouche off her back. Then the fight went on the ground with some direct punches to the head delivered by Rousey. In the last minute of the first round, Rousey positioned herself for her favorite submission which is the armbar. Camouche rolled and tried to escape the armbar, but to no avail, Rousey has fully stretched Lis’ arm for the submission victory.
